Stateroom
breakfast menu, dining room breakfast menus, & the lunch menus
2004 are
below. We have dinner menus, food photos and
midnight buffet photos, as well. We tried a few different waiters in the open sittings for breakfast
& lunch. All of our waiters were friendly & eager to please.
Sometimes there was a language problem & often they would say yes to something,
to be polite, though they may not have understood, & the cruiser would get angry
with them and a conflict might arise. We found the staff to be very
friendly and willing to resolve problems if you gave them the chance.
We only obtained 3 dining room breakfast menus. The breakfast menus
(except the disembarkation one) were essentially the same, but had a "Dishes
of the Day" difference on the top right side, which is nice & different from
most cruise lines, which mostly use a single breakfast menu. We are
also missing the lunch menus from day8 Puerto Limon, & day11 Key West. If
anyone has or obtains the other days, we will post them.
In talking with others, we discovered the opinion that our
restaurant had better waiters & better food than the larger La Bussola
restaurant. Apparently, many of those who were assigned the La
Bussola, ate lunch & breakfast in our L'Ippocampo restaurant. Since the
Breakfast & lunch were open sitting, you could chose which restaurant you wanted
each day. The restaurants have separate galleys (as also does the
buffet area). The waiters usually asked for a cruiser's entire menu
selections, including the dessert, but we sometimes told them we would decide at
the end of the meal. We found there was an occasional problem with the
salad delivery sequence (& sometimes forgotten), due to what we thought was the
different sequence on the menu (at the bottom of the menu as the European custom
of eating it at the end). We began to tell them where in the sequence we
wanted it, & it usually solved the problem.
We especially enjoyed the breakfast bacon, which tasted smokier than most of the
bacon we get. We enjoyed our lunches in the dining room & preferred
to eat there instead of the La Bistrot Cafeteria & La Pergola (grill area),
except we usually ate a bite (or more) of the pasta, freshly prepared while you
watch in a pan (in the grill area outside), before we went down to lunch.
Breakfast & lunch were at different times in the 2 dining rooms. For
breakfast, the La Bussola was 7:00-9:00am, & the L'Ippocampo was 8:00-10:00am.
For lunch the La Bussola was 12:30-2:00pm, & the L'Ippocampo was 1:00-2:30pm,
except for Montego Bay & San Blas Islands which had lunch in the La Bussola
as 11:30-1:00pm, & the L'Ippocampo as 12:00-1:30pm (note this is a full
hour earlier for those 2 days).
